Infocus: Tenancy and rental rights

Knowing your rights as a tenant is an important issue living in the Ryde LGA.

Join us at Ryde Library for our talk Infocus: Tenancy and rental rights. A legal expert from the Northern Sydney Area Tenants' Service (Marrickville Legal Centre) will explain what you can and can't do as a tenant and also what the landlord and real estate agent's rights and obligations are.

During the session, you'll learn about:

  • the basics of a lease agreement including notice periods

  • your rights as a tenant including repairs, privacy/access, rent reductions and compensation

  • your obligations as a tenant

  • how to deal with a bond dispute and what 'fair wear and tear' means

  • the basics of the NCAT Tribunal.
