Women in Law Breakfast 2022

Hume Riverina Community Legal Service is excited to welcome Melbourne-based Barrister Amanda Storey to the Women in Law Breakfast 2022. Amanda will speak about her career, her passion for the law, and some of the highlights standing up for vulnerable and exploited consumers.

Amanda is passionate about defending the rights of consumers and the unfair treatment they can experience in the marketplace. Her practice areas are commercial, consumer law, consumer credit, insurance, insolvency and dispute resolution. Prior to coming to the Bar, Amanda practiced as a solicitor for 13 years, including as the Director of Legal Practice for the Consumer Action Law Centre (CALC) where she led a team of 16 lawyers.

During Amanda's time at CALC, she helped clients give evidence as consumer witnesses before the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. Amanda also sits on the Board of Directors at the St Kilda Legal Service
